2 Rooms Contemporary Art Projects 2012 - 2020
Established in 2012 in Duntara, Newfoundland as a platform for temporary on-site installation projects, exhibitions & events, and as a museum of material culture. The programming reflected the confluence of historical, natural and cultural conditions that exist interdependently in Newfoundland's outport communities. Installed in a restored saltbox house, 2 Rooms featured contemporary art exhibitions on the first floor and museological displays of artifacts and specimens on the second floor.
2 Rooms Artist Residency opened in 2014 with generous donations to our Kickstarter Funding Campaign. The residency welcomed pairs of artists each summer for three week residencies in the Yellow House, Bog Lane, Duntara. The house included a studio and bedroom for each artist.

Catherine Beaudette is the founder of Bonavista Biennale and 2 Rooms Contemporary Art Projects. She is a Canadian artist, curator, and cultural worker currently based in Montréal, Québec and Pictou, Nova Scotia where she continues her initiatives to stimulate local economies and empower creative communities.
