Urbanenergies 2017 - 2019
These small watercolour and mixed media studies are the residue of cities travelled. Drawing from the rectilinear urban environment, I infuse this work on paper with the resonant colour, structure and energy I encounter on the streets. Working in situ from snapshots taken on my phone, the activity is immediate and responsive as a way of being present. The places I visit influence my work by providing research for my studio practice. The works selected here are from Havana, Mexico City, Ragusa and Florence, Italy.
